Why Shampoo?

It started with me trying to fix my own hair and scalp, and it grew into customers, a team, an income and a community of women I never expected. I never set out to build a business that would carry me through the hardest chapter of my life, but when my personal life changed, it gave me somewhere to put my energy, women to talk to on the lonely days, and proof that I was capable when I was questioning my worth. It turned out to be more than something I was building for income. It was building me, and it gave me something that was entirely mine, and that no one could take away.

How can I make money?

The simplest answer is commission.

You recommend haircare, skincare and wellness products to people. They order through your personal online store, MONAT takes care of the payment, packing and shipping, and you earn commission from their order.

You don’t need to buy stock and resell it, pack orders, go to the post office or build your own website. Your job is to find customers, help them work out what products might suit them and look after them afterwards.

HOW MUCH COMMISSION DO I EARN?

There are two main types of customers. Regular retail customers pay full price, and VIP customers receive discounted pricing and other perks.

On average, you can earn approximately 30% commission on full-price retail orders and 15% on VIP orders. The exact amount can vary when discounts or promotions are used.

So in real life, someone might tell you they’re struggling with an oily scalp, dry hair, breakage or thinning. You ask them some questions, recommend products and send them your link. They order directly from MONAT and you earn commission.

The more customers you build, the more opportunity you have to earn. There are also extra sales bonuses available when your monthly customer sales reach certain amounts.

DO I HAVE TO BE GOOD AT SALES?

No. You don’t need to come into this knowing how to sell, and you definitely don’t need to become pushy or salesy.

But sales skills do help. You need to learn how to talk to people, ask questions, recommend something confidently, follow up and actually ask for the sale.

If you’ve never done that before, I’ll teach you.

I’ll teach you how I find customers, how I do hair consultations, how I recommend products, how I follow up, how I use social media and how I turn happy customers into repeat customers and referrals.

These are skills. And skills can be learnt.

CAN I EARN MORE THAN CUSTOMER COMMISSION?

Yes.

If you want to keep things simple, you can focus on selling products and building your own customer base.

If you want to build something bigger, you can also introduce other people to the business and help them learn how to do what you’re doing. MONAT has additional ways to earn as you build a team and help that team grow.

You don’t need to understand all of that before you start. Your first job is simply learning how to find customers and recommend products.

DO I NEED A BIG SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWING?

No.

Customers can come from social media, friends and family, referrals, everyday conversations, existing networks, samples and recommendations from happy customers.

You don’t need thousands of followers and you don’t need to turn your Instagram into a shampoo catalogue.

You just need to be willing to put yourself out there and talk about what you do.

BUT YOU DO HAVE TO WORK.

This part is important.

Working from home does not mean earning money for doing nothing.

MONAT doesn’t give you customers when you join. You have to find them. You have to have conversations, follow up, learn the products, create content, make recommendations, hear no sometimes and keep going.

Building successfully takes hard work, commitment and perseverance.

There are no guaranteed earnings.

The flexibility is that you can build it around your existing life. But you still have to build it.

You start by purchasing a product pack, with current options beginning at $250 AUD. These aren’t products you’re expected to resell. They’re for you to use, learn about and gain your own experience with.

From there, I’ll help you learn what to do.

SO, REALLY, HOW DOES IT WORK?

You find customers. You help them. They order. You earn commission. You look after them so they want to come back. And you keep building.
